Kevin Kamdem becomes professional

The young Cameroonian goalkeeper (20) will join the MHSC first team on a full-time basis on July 1st

Kevin Kamdem joined the club in March 2024 from the Douala Football Academy—in which MHSC is the majority shareholder—and has since worked his way up through the ranks, training regularly with the first team throughout the season that is now coming to a close.
This modern goalkeeper, who commands a strong presence in goal thanks to his size, power, and poise, is coming off a promising season with the reserve team. In National 3—where he shared goalkeeping duties with teammate Viktor Džodić—Kevin has consistently been a game-changer, demonstrating solidity on his line and in aerial play, while showing significant improvement in his decision-making with the ball at his feet. For all these reasons, MHSC is very pleased to announce that the Cameroonian U23 international will join the professional squad full-time starting July 1. A prospect that delights the player himself: “This is a special moment that makes me very happy. I’m very happy to have signed my first professional contract with Montpellier Hérault Sport Club. It’s a great source of pride for me,” Kevin explained after signing. “Having joined the Douala Football Academy at age 12 and finding myself here today shows significant progress, and I’m very pleased about it. I hope to have a good preseason for next season and show what I’m capable of to earn a spot on the first team.” Welcome to the big leagues, Kevin!
